Goodfellow AFB Barracks

At Goodfellow AFB, unaccompanied housing is available to enlisted ranks E1 to E3 and E4 with less than three years of service. For unaccompanied Airmen of rank E4 with greater than three years of service, they may find housing in the local community. All single service members must report to their unit to be assigned barracks space. Any personnel arriving on post after service hours will be assigned temporary living quarters until the next duty day. A private sleeping room, furnishings, bed linens and supplies required for comfortable living are provided to every Airman. Smoking is allowed only in designated areas, and there are no pets allowed in the barracks. Unaccompanied Second Lieutenants with no primary military experience with student status are required to live in the dormitories. All household goods will be transported to the dorms at the government’s expense. The Officer dormitory is an apartment-style dorm with a bathroom, kitchen and living room combo, and a bedroom with a full-size bed. The room is furnished, but TV and cable are not provided. Unaccompanied enlisted students E3-E5 are housed in the dorms on a space-available basis. Those rooms would consist of similar amenities to the Officer Students room but with two twin beds. The secondary beds are used strictly on an overflow basis. A TV and basic cable are provided in the centrally located day room. The unaccompanied housing facilities strive to provide a personal residence that creates a comfortable, functional and well-maintained home with a mission to take pride in the community.

The first thing you should do once you relocate to Goodfellow Air Force Base is head to the Housing Management Office. There you will receive a warm welcome from a team of professionals looking to help take the stress out of relocating. You will get assistance here with all of your housing needs and any information you need on military relocation. The Housing Management Office provides services that will help you with referrals, relocation assistance, guidance for entering a lease agreement and tenant-landlord disputes. Goodfellow AFB Housing Options

Military family housing at Goodfellow AFB is privatized. The owner, Hunt Military Communities, is responsible for maintaining and managing the community neighborhoods. We advise you to contact the Housing Management Office as soon as you know that you are moving to Goodfellow AFB. There, you will receive the latest information about privatized housing and help with the application process from the government housing team. You will also be informed about base-specific policies. Applying here is similar to living in the local community. You will sign a tenant lease agreement, typically for a one-year term. Your lease will include a military clause and a lease-termination clause. Rent is paid by authorizing an allotment of your BAH that is paid directly to the property manager. If your family has school-aged children, the housing on base is within the San Angelo Independent School District. Surrounding the base are dozens of schools and plenty of options no matter what age your school-aged students are. Bus services are limited based on the distance your home is from the school. Hunt Military Communities offers homes in their neighborhoods with two-, three- and four-bedroom floor plans. There are many floor plans and layouts in this well-kept community. Each neighborhood and rental house comes with a set of amenities that will make you feel right at home.

Goodfellow AFB Amenities

Amenities vary depending on which of the three neighborhoods you choose at Goodfellow AFB but include some of the following: central AC, a garage or carport, washer/dryer hookups, a refrigerator, dishwasher, garbage disposal and high-speed internet/cable hookups. Included in your rental are lawn services, trash and recycling pick-up, and 24-hour maintenance services. The community itself offers amenities that will provide your family with entertainment year-round. The neighborhoods include parks and playgrounds that are perfect for a family outing right on the base. There are also walking and bike paths, access to basketball courts, volleyball courts, tennis courts and a fitness center. Be sure to keep up-to-date with the community as there are many free events hosted throughout the year.

Goodfellow AFB Hunt Military Communities Neighborhoods

1. Concho Pearl

Ranks: E-1 - E-6 The rental houses in the Concho Pearl neighborhood are two- and three-bedrooms that consist of fenced patios, carports and open concept living rooms, plus they have plenty of storage space. You’ll be near playgrounds, dog parks and basketball courts here.

2. Eagle Pass

Ranks: O-5 - O-7 The three- and four-bedroom rental houses in Eagle Pass have two-car garages, master suites with walk-in closets, gas stoves with built-in microwaves and open-concept living rooms. You’ll be near basketball, tennis and volleyball courts with baseball and soccer fields nearby, too.

3. Rio Concho

Ranks: E-1 - O-9 (depending on the floor plan) Rio Concho is a large neighborhood within the Family Housing at Goodfellow AFB with three- and four-bedroom rental homes. You’ll have vaulted dining rooms, master suites, electric stoves with built-in microwaves, a garage and plenty of additional storage here.
