Welcome to your new home at Naval Air Station Jacksonville, located in Florida along the west bank of the St. Johns River. NAS Jacksonville is the largest Navy base in the Southeast Region and third largest in the United States with over 10,000 active service members. NAS JAX Barracks

At NAS Jacksonville, unaccompanied housing is available to enlisted ranks E-1 to E-3 and E-4 with less than 4 years of service. For rank E-4 and up with more than 4 years of service, they may find housing in the local community. Under certain circumstances, more senior personnel may be eligible to live in unaccompanied housing. Any unaccompanied personnel reporting to NAS Jacksonville must report to the Housing Service Center.

A private sleeping room, furnishings, bed linens, and supplies required for comfortable living are provided to every unaccompanied personnel. Smoking is allowed only in designated areas, and there are no pets allowed in the barracks.

The Unaccompanied Housing facilities strive to provide a personal residence that creates a comfortable, functional, and well-maintained home with a mission to take pride in the community.

The first thing you should do once you relocate to Naval Air Station Jacksonville is head to the Housing Office. NAS JAX (Jacksonville) Homes is a community situated on base leasing exclusively to active duty families stationed at Naval Air Station Jacksonville.

We advise you to contact the Housing Management Office as soon as you know that you are moving to NAS Jacksonville. There, you will receive the latest information about privatized housing and help with the application process from the government housing team. You will also be informed about base-specific policies.

NAS Jacksonville Family Homes

Military Housing in Jacksonville, FL offers a wide variety of homes with floor plans with three, four, and five-bedroom options. Each rental home comes with its own set of amenities that include equipped kitchens, central heating and air conditioning, storage and closet space, master suite, washer/dryer connections, wood-style flooring, and ample outdoor space.

The neighborhoods themselves are complete with their own amenities that include walking paths, pet-friendly communities, multiple playgrounds, and sports parks. You will also have easy access to NAS Jacksonville facilities. Lawn care services are provided to each rental home, along with curbside trash and recycling pick up. Be sure to check on resident activities and events within the community that occur year-round.

NAS Jacksonville Homes has a pet-friendly pet policy for the furry members of the family. The policy includes large dogs with a two pet maximum in rentals with certain breed restrictions. Be sure to contact the leasing specialists to learn more details on the pet policy.

Applying here is similar to living in the local community. You will sign a tenant lease agreement, typically for a one-year term. Your lease will include a military clause and a lease termination clause. Rent is paid by authorizing an allotment of your BAH that is paid directly to the property manager.

If your family has school-aged children, the housing on base is within the Duval County Public Schools district. On board NAS Jacksonville is Venetia Elementary, J.E.B. Stuart Middle School, and Robert E. Lee High School. Bus transportation is provided.

1. Patriots Point

The homes in the Patriots Point neighborhood range from three to four bedrooms with two and a half baths. The amenities include a laundry room with a utility sink, master suite, screened-in porch and garage along with a fully equipped kitchen, washer/dryer connections, and ample closet and storage space.

2. River Oaks

Rank: E7-E9, O1-O7

The River Oaks neighborhood is located conveniently near the Jacksonville Golf Club and Officers Club. Here the homes have three, four, and five bedroom floor plans with outdoor entertaining space, laundry room, fireplace, and fully equipped kitchen.
