Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) is provided for you based on your rank and location. BAH is given if housing on Base is not available and you are looking at living in the surrounding area. The Housing Service Center (HSC) on base has eight buildings with 1,169 rooms and 2,079 beds for permanent parties or students. Unaccompanied personnel should report to their tenant command and then the HSC front desk in Building 1312. Most personnel grades E-1 through E-4 will be required to live in unaccompanied housing. More senior personnel (including geographic bachelors) may stay in unaccompanied housing under certain circumstances however space is limited and there is a waiting list. 0630-1600 Daily Naval Station Newport Housing Office Wait times for on-base housing average one month but can sometimes be longer. Contact the Housing Service Center for the most up to date information. Housing on base is a public-private partnership with Balfour Beatty Communities. The Navy manages your housing application and the waitlist. The Privatized Managing Partner manages the lease signing, property management, and meeting the residents' needs. You should always contact the Housing Service Center first to ensure you have all your paperwork in order to apply. You can apply for housing in a number of ways. Complete an online leasing inquiry, visit the Leasing Office located at 8 Constitution Ave, or contact a leasing specialist at 1 (401) 846-9977 or newportleasing@bbcgrp.com.Active Duty applicants will need:

There are eight neighborhoods with a total of 691 homes available in 2, 3, and 4 bedroom floor plans. Two of the neighborhoods are restricted to O6 and higher.Note

O6 This neighborhood has a variety of three, four, five, and even six-bedroom homes of unique historic charm. It is conveniently located adjacent to the Naval War College and enjoys incredible scenic views.2. Coddington Cove

All ranks, DOD Employees, This neighborhood features three and four-bedroom homes with full kitchens, a garage, washer/dryer connections, and access to playgrounds, a swimming pool, and a basketball court.3. Farragut Field

All ranks, military retirees, DOD employees Located just near Gate 1, it is close to several dining options. This neighborhood features three and four-bedroom homes with fenced-in backyards, a garage, and a porch.4. Fort Adams

All ranks, military retirees, DOD employees This neighborhood has three, four, and five-bedroom homes with fully equipped kitchens, fenced-in backyards, washer/dryer and is located near the Fort Adams State Park and Newport Bay walk.5.Greene Lane

All ranks This neighborhood has three, four, and five-bedroom homes with amenities to include master suites, patios, and garages. It is within walking distance to Melville Elementary School and a community center.8. Naval Hospital

O6 This small and exclusive neighborhood has beautiful and spacious five-bedroom historic homes with fireplaces, porches, large yards, and unobstructed coastal views. Centrally located on base near the Naval Hospital.Conclusion
