Welcome to Offutt Air Force Base (AFB)! Moving is a big chore and one that occurs all too often in the military. If you’re moving to a new place where you don’t think you’d like to put down roots eventually or you don’t want to invest in buying a home, on-base housing may be the right option for you. Housing on base offers a safe, easy option in a friendly community. One of the big perks is that you know you won’t have to deal with shady landlords or renting in a neighborhood that you’re unfamiliar with. Offutt AFB BAH Rates

Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) is provided for you based on your rank and location. BAH is given if housing on-base is not available and you are looking at living in the surrounding area. Offutt AFB Barracks

There is unaccompanied housing available to Airmen from the ranks of E1 to E3 or E4 with fewer than three years of service. Airmen with more than three years of service will need to move out in town. All Airmen are provided with a private sleeping room, linens, and supplies. There are four dormitories on one campus located on the northern portion of the base. Common area amenities include free Wi-Fi, flat screen TVs, recreation equipment, and fully equipped kitchen. Airmen coming unaccompanied should contact their gaining unit or sponsor to get their room assignment.

Wait times for every base vary depending on the time of year and availability so the first step is always to call the Military Housing Office. Their professionals can help answer any questions you have and assist you in the application process. You can also use the Housing Early Assistance Tool (HEAT) to connect with your future destination before moving to get a jump on things during your transition. Housing on-base is a public-private partnership with Rising View. The Air Force manages your housing application and the waitlist. The neighborhoods on Offutt AFB offer free utilities for active duty residents, free garage or carports, and free event center rentals! There is no security deposit and all homes are pet friendly. There are three elementary schools within the community as well as 61 playgrounds and 12 sports courts, making these homes a great place to raise your family. Check out the full list of amenities. Note: Even though some neighborhoods may include all ranks, only certain units within that neighborhood may be available to certain ranks. Though some neighborhoods are open to all ranks, certain floor plans may be restricted to those of higher rank.
