Welcome to NAS Pax River, located in Patuxent River, Maryland, about sixty miles outside of Washington DC. Patuxent River is at the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay making for some lovely waterfront views. Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) is provided for your base based on your rank and location. BAH is given if housing on-base is not available and you are looking at living in the surrounding area. Unaccompanied personnel can find housing through the Unaccompanied Housing office. Unaccompanied personnel in the ranks of E1-E3 and E-4 with fewer than four years of service are eligible for unaccompanied housing. Unaccompanied housing holds about 240 personnel in one building, Bldg 2818. Bldg 2818 has 73 Market Style Units with a full kitchen and living area. Each room has a full bathroom, two captain’s beds, a nightstand, a desk with a chair, a dresser, and two closets. The living room has a 50” TV, two full-size sofas, an end table and lamp, a full kitchen, and a washer/dryer. Each room is equipped with cable, internet, and phone outlets but the services are the occupant’s responsibility. There are multipurpose rooms with lounges, TVs, games, reading rooms, bike lockers, a grilling area, and basketball courts. All base amenities are within easy walking distance. All rooms are subject to weekly inspections and residents must maintain them to comply with rules and regulations.NAS Pax River Unaccompanied Housing

To apply for NAS Pax River base family housing, contact the Navy Housing Service Center as soon as you receive your orders to NAS Pax River. The housing team can inform you of the process and notify you of current wait times for housing, if any. For any other information, both accompanied or unaccompanied, on-base or off-base housing, you can check out the Navy’s housing website here. Housing on-base is a public-private partnership with Lincoln Military Housing. The Navy manages your housing application and the waitlist.
