Situated just 30 miles from the bustling city of Los Angeles, California, this base is a premiere Naval installation encompassing three bases: Point Mugu, Port Hueneme, and Saint Nicholas Island. Port Hueneme and Port Mugu are two separate bases approximately 10 miles apart. Saint Nicholas Island is located 60 miles from the Ventura coast, nestled among the Channel Islands. All bases have a wide range of vital missions serving the Navy, including several Navy Seabee units, three warfare centers, the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, and the Naval Facilities Engineering and Expeditionary Warfare Center. Directions to NBVC Port Hueneme from 101N/S:
- Exit at Victoria Avenue heading South.
- Follow Victoria Avenue for 6 miles.
- Turn LEFT on Channel Islands Blvd.
- Turn RIGHT on Ventura Rd.
- Turn RIGHT into the Sunkist Gate. (open 24/7)
Directions to NBVC Point Mugu from LAX:
- Head east on World Way/Center Way.
- Take Sepulveda Blvd. N/CA-1N ramp.
- Merge onto S. Sepulveda Blvd.
- Turn RIGHT onto La Tijera Blvd.
- Merge onto I-405 N via the ramp on the left.
- Merge onto I-10 W via exit 53 B (toward Santa Monica).
- Continue on I-10 W as it becomes CA-1 N.
- Take Las Posas Road Exit.
- Turn LEFT onto Las Posas Rd.
- Enter the Las Posas Gate. (open 24/7)

- Enter the Las Posas gate.
- Turn RIGHT onto Ronald Reagan.
- Turn RIGHT onto Main Road.
- Turn LEFT onto 6th.

All incoming military personnel will be required to have their DoD identification, PCS orders, and medical records upon arrival. Be sure to hand-carry any pertinent documents needed for in-processing.Check-In Procedures for Incoming Personnel
Naval Base Ventura County personnel should report to the Quarterdeck upon arrival, which is located in building 1 on Point Mugu. This facility is open 24 hours a day. If you are reporting to the Construction Battalion Center on Port Hueneme, you need to report to building 1000 or contact the battalion at1 (805) 982-4571
