There are no DoDEA schools on the base. According to the base’s school liaison officer website:

  • Students who live in Port Hueneme military housing attend schools in the Hueneme Elementary School District and Oxnard Union High School District.
  • Students who live in Point Mugu military housing attend schools in the Ocean View School District and Oxnard Union High School District.
  • Students who live in Catalina Heights (Camarillo) military housing attend schools in the Pleasant Valley School District and Oxnard Union High School District.

Students who do not live in military housing attend these and other area school districts, including Oxnard School District, Rio School District, and Ventura Unified School District.

Child Development Homes

Child Development Homes offer home-based child care in housing on and off the base. Providers in this program can provide flexible care in smaller group sizes. Providers are trained to provide quality care and are certified to meet Navy regulations and health and safety standards.
