Redstone Arsenal Barracks

At Redstone Arsenal, unaccompanied housing is not available on post. Single soldiers may apply for on-post housing or reside off post and draw Basic Allowance for Housing at the without-dependent rate. At the present time, single soldiers in grades E-7 and above are housed on a space-available basis. These service members will be required to sign a recapture statement prior to being assigned bachelor quarters. Unaccompanied soldiers can find apartments available in the vicinity of the installation. It is recommended that you visit the apartment before entering a lease agreement since not all apartments are located in desirable neighborhoods. For information about available housing, contact the HSO at 256-876-6666 or DSN 746-6666. The HSO is located in Building 302 on Hughes Drive.

Redstone Arsenal Housing Options

Military family housing at Redstone Arsenal is provided by Hunt Military Communities. There are seven neighborhoods on the post with single-family, townhouse, and duplex-style homes. The seven different communities offer a variety of features that will help you feel right at home, including a gas station, an 18-hole golf course, an arts and craft center, a bank and credit union, a bowling alley, a camping facility, dry cleaners, food court, veterinary clinic, shooting range, and more. All of the homes in these seven neighborhoods also include at least some of the following: carpeting and vinyl plank flooring, 24-hour emergency maintenance services, landscaping services, privacy fencing, washer and dryer hookups, energy efficient appliances, central AC and heat, garage or carport, high speed internet/cable ready, refrigerator, dishwasher, garbage disposal, blinds, and more. Redstone Arsenal does allow certain pets, even some larger dogs, but there is a limit of two pets per home and certain breeds are restricted.
