By Kevin Lankes

Introduction

Tripler Army Medical Center is an Army hospital located in Honolulu, Hawaii. It serves forces deployed in the region, along with veterans in the community, and is the headquarters of the Pacific Regional Medical Command. Around 265,000 active duty personnel, their families, veterans, and contractors live and work at the facility. If you’re PCSing here and looking for a place to live, then this guide will be a great place to start. As we show you the on-post housing options available in the various communities at Tripler Army Medical Center.

Tripler Army BAH

Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) is given to service members as a monthly stipend when they elect to live off post in the area surrounding an installation. The BAH formula is calculated with strict attention to a soldier’s rank, their number of dependents, and the zip code where they settle down. The stipend is meant to help with the cost of monthly bills and assist with saving for long-term goals. BAH is a great way to save money that would otherwise go to housing or other monthly bills. You can follow this link to look up your Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) for your rank and zip code. This will help you create your budget and guide your home search. Tripler Army Barracks

Tripler Army housing includes an on-site barracks for unaccompanied enlisted personnel. The barracks include dorm-style rooms where housekeeping and maintenance is taken care of for residents. Since most needs and extra housing costs are taken care of, there’s no allotment for BAH for soldiers living in the barracks. Tripler Army Housing Office
