Just got orders to Hill Air Force Base? Ordered by the colorful West Edge Mountains to the east and the Great Salt Lake to the west, you'll find plenty to explore at your new duty station. Start right on base with a round of golf or a game of bowling, then head just outside the gates to Union Station where you'll find a firearms museum, a railroad museum, and a classic car museum. The area's surrounding Hill Air Force Base have a wide array of cuisine options for even the pickiest foodie. You'll find everything from German cuisine at Weller's Bistro and brunch options at Scrambled to fried chicken and sandwiches at the Coop by Roosters. When the weather's nice, get outside. Jesse D. Barlow Park and Chelsea Meadows Park offer great trails and adventures for you and your four-legged friends, and plenty of local patios are dog-friendly too. Ready for a day trip? Park City is just about an hour away, offering mountain activities for snowy seasons. Lava Hot Springs is just about two hours away and offers natural hot springs and river tubing. And the iconic Bonneville Salt Flats are about two and a half hours away, offering a landscape like no other. All are worth a drive for a weekend adventure.
