Here's what's on the radar in military life this week. Six months into the U.S.-Iran conflict, there's still no end in sight. Both sides have stepped up strikes in recent days while peace talks remained stalled. President Trump says he doesn't expect the latest U.S. strikes to continue too long, but for service members and their families, the ongoing conflict means continued deployments, a high operational tempo, and uncertainty about what comes next. Meanwhile, the Navy says it won't return to its heavily damaged base in Bahrain anytime soon. The installation, home to U.S. 5th Fleet, was struck by Iran in February. Thousands of displaced troops and families remain in limbo, while the Navy relies on more distant logistics hubs to support operations in the region. Congress has passed a short-term funding bill, taking the threat of another government shutdown off the table at least through early December.
