Welcome to MacDill Air Force Base, a premier Air Mobility Command installation delivering global air refueling capability. What truly sets MacDill apart is its unique multi-service footprint. It serves as home to 51 tenant units from all branches of service, including U.S. Central Command, U.S. Special Operations Command, and the 927th Air Refueling Wing. Located on the tip of the Inner Bay Peninsula, just four miles south of downtown Tampa, the base is beautifully bordered by water on both sides. MacDill supports a massive community of over 530,000 people across the region, including 15,300 active duty and civilian personnel and nearly 11,500 family members. If you're just arriving, enter through the Dale Mabry Main Gate and head straight to the Visitor Control Center. If you have civilian visitors coming to see you, you'll also need to stop here to register for their passes. When you're off duty, MacDill and the surrounding communities of Tampa and St. Petersburg have endless options for rest and relaxation.
