Welcome to Fort Sill, Oklahoma, headquarters of the U.S. Army Fire Center of Excellence. As a National Historic Landmark and the only remaining active fort built during the Indian Wars, this installation boasts an incredible legacy. Today it serves as the home for Army Field and Air Defense Artillery, Marine Corps Artillery, and is one of just four locations for Army basic combat training. Located in historic Comanche County, Fort Sill supports a massive community of roughly 53,000 active duty troops, civilians, and family members, along with 9,000 trainees on post at any given time. If you're just arriving on orders, enter through the Bentley Gate on Sheridan Road and head straight to the Fort Sill Welcome Center to check in. If you have civilian visitors coming to see you, they'll also stop here to register for their passes. When you're off duty, Fort Sill and the surrounding communities like Lawton and Medicine Park have so much to offer. Whether you're exploring the stunning local nature or soaking in the region's boundless history, you won't be disappointed. Welcome to Fort Sill and keep the fire strong.
