Welcome to Moody Air Force Base, home of 23rd Wing Flying Tigers, 598th Range Squadron and other tenant units. The base in southern Georgia encompasses 9,300 acres, making room for Avon Park, the largest air-to-ground training range east of the Mississippi River. Moody Air Force Base supports nearly 4,500 service members, 500 civilians and their families. Situated just northeast of Valdosta, you will find plenty of community support both on and off base. If you're just arriving on orders, enter through one of the gates and check in at the Military Personnel section. If arriving after hours, check in at the Moody Inn. If you have civilian visitors coming to see you, they will need to stop at the Visitor Control Center at the main gate to register for their unaccompanied passes. Off duty, you'll find much to do without leaving base. The spot offers bowling, an escape room, community center and cafe. Valdosta is an urban area just outside the gates offering restaurants, art, theme parks and more. When you want to get outdoors, Azalea City Trail and Langdale Park are local favorites. Moody Air Force Base has many resources available and they're ready to make your stay memorable.
