Information
PCSing the Redstone Arsenal, this Huntsville, Alabama installation is a little different from a traditional army post. Redstone is home to a large military, civilian, and contractor workforce, and plays a major role in aviation, missiles, space, logistics, research, and acquisition. Before you arrive, make sure you know your reporting instructions and which gate you need. Gate 9 on Bright Out Road is the main 24-hour entrance, and the Visitor Control Center is located just outside the gate. Once you're settled, you'll find plenty of on-post resources, including Fox Army Health Center, the Commissary, MRW programs, fitness centers, bowling, aquatics, outdoor recreation, and privatized family housing. Most families have plenty of off-post options. Huntsville and Madison offer shorter commutes and lots of amenities, while Athens, Decatur, and Harvest can provide more space with a longer drive. And when you're ready to explore, check out the U.S. Space and Rocket Center, Huntsville Botanical Garden, Toyota Field, Downtown Huntsville, and the Tennessee River. Redstone Arsenal puts you right in the middle of everything North Alabama has to offer.
