Welcome to Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, home of the 916th Air Refueling Wing and the 4th Fighter Wing. As the host unit, the 4th Fighter Wing accomplishes its training and operational missions using F-15E Strike Eagles. The installation serves nearly 4,500 military members, 1,500 civilians and their families. Situated in the southeast section of Goldsboro, North Carolina, you'll find a strong, welcoming community both on and off the installation. If you are just arriving on orders, enter through any gate and check in with your unit admin section. Civilian visitors will need to stop at the Visitor Control Center at the main gate to register for an unaccompanied pass. Off-duty, you'll have plenty to do without ever leaving the base, including bowling, a library and hobby crafts. Just outside the fence, Goldsboro offers ample recreational activities from restaurants and museums to local theater. Looking to get outside? Old Waynesboro Park and Herman Park are a few local gems. Seymour Johnson has a wealth of resources available, so take advantage and enjoy your time at your new duty station.
