Welcome to Vandenberg Space Force Base, home to Space Launch Delta 30. Space Launch Delta 30 supports launch activities from the Air Force, Department of War, National Aeronautics and Space Administration, national programs, and some private industry contractors. The base, located on the central coast of California in Santa Barbara County, California, covers more than 98,000 acres and about 44 miles of the Pacific coastline. Nearly 4,000 people live on base and over 15,000 servicemen and civilians work here. If you're just arriving on orders, enter through any gate and check in with your command, unit, and or sponsor. If you have civilian visitors coming to see you, they will need to stop at the Visitor Control Center at the Santa Maria Main Gate to register for their unaccompanied passes. When you're not working on the mission, you'll find plenty to do in the areas surrounding the base. You can start on base to explore the night sky at FAMCAMP, knock down some pins at the bowling alley, or spend a day at the range at the Vandenberg Rod and Gun Club. When you're ready to venture off base, Santa Maria has everything from hiking and biking trails, sandy beaches, authentic cuisine, wineries, and more. Vandenberg Space Force Base has many resources to help you get familiar with your new location. Get out and explore today.
