So you’ve just been assigned to Edwards Air Force Base. There’s a ton of things for you to do, but if you’re a parent, one of the first things you need to do when relocating to a new area is figure out where your kids are going to go to school and what your options are when it comes to childcare. You’ve got several choices of schools near Edward AFB to choose from, whether you opt for a public or private school. Choosing the best school district is a big part of that. Edwards AFB Child Care

Edwards Air Force Base offers a Child Care Centers that accepts children from 6 weeks old to five years-old. Parents will have to create an account on militarychildcare.com to request childcare. The Child Development Center can be reached at (661) 275-8687 or DSN 525-8687.

Muroc Unified School District

There are no DODDS schools located at Edwards Air Force Base. If you live in privatized housing on Edwards Space Force base, you will be a part of the Muroc Unified School District. You can find their information below: Muroc Unified School District 17100 Foothill Avenue North Edwards, CA 93523

Another serves students from grades K-3rd grade, and the third from 4-6th grade. There are also two high schools, both of which serve students in grades 7-12.

The district operates 13 schools that serve students from kindergarten to eighth grade. There are two combination elementary/middle schools, eight elementary schools, and three middle schools.

Parents who opt to send their children to a private school near Edwards Space Force Base will have no shortage of options. 2. Lancaster Baptist School

3. Vineyard Christian School

: 1 (661) 948-3766 Vineyard Christian School is a non-denominational Christian school that serves 187 students in pre-K through eighth grade. Despite it’s small number of classroom teachers - the school only boasts 10 - it maintains a 19:1 student to teacher ratio.

4. Sacred Heart Elementary School

5. Antelope Valley Adventist School

: 1 (661) 942-6552 Antelope Valley Adventist School is a Seventh Day Adventist institution that was founded in 1949. The school’s student body is small, with 63 students spread from Kindergarten to eighth grade. The student to teach ratio is 13:1.
