USAFC Unaccompanied Housing

There are two dormitories: Vandenberg Hall and Sijan Hall, located on base. Living and dining arrangements at the U.S. Air Force Academy dorms reinforce the squadron as the defining aspect of daily life. It’s important for cadets to live and eat together daily to develop knowledge, trust, and leadership skills.

Vandenberg Hall is the second-largest university dormitory in the country with over 1,300 cadet rooms. It houses Squadrons 1–23 and contains a convenience store, post office, barbershops, supply store, counseling offices, and recreational clubs.

Sijan Hall

Sijan Hall is a recently renovated seven-story building housing over 1,950 cadets from Squadrons 24–40. The amenities include a barber and beauty shop, a day spa, a laundry room, and a federal credit union with an ATM inside.

U.S. Air Force Academy Housing Options

U.S. Air Force Academy housing is privatized housing owned, operated, and managed by Hunt Military Communities. It offers comparable housing to the local community and provides a wide variety of amenities and support services. 1. Main Douglass Valley

  • Beds: 3 – 4
  • Baths: 2 – 2.5
  • Eligibility: E1 – E6

In these great homes, you will discover open floor plans complete with garages, fireplaces, and patios. These duplex homes also feature hardwood floors throughout the single-story home, an eat-in kitchen, wood-burning fireplaces, and additional storage available in the basement area. 

2. Milcon – Douglass Valley

  • Beds: 3 – 4
  • Baths: 2.5
  • Eligibility: E1– E6

This neighborhood offers beautiful mountain views and a convenient location to base amenities. The duplex homes have a one-car garage, fenced backyard, living room, dining room, and a family room that provides lots of living space on the main floor. All bedrooms, including the master, are located on the upper level.  

3. Pine Valley Market Rent

  • Beds: 2 – 5
  • Baths: 1 – 2.5
  • Eligibility: E1 – E9; O1 – O5; O1E – O3E; W1 – W5 

These newly renovated homes are for enlisted service members to officers with a variety of floorplans to choose from. Homes offer large bedrooms and walk-in closets, hardwood floors, garages, fireplaces, fenced back yards, and an unfinished basement that can be used as a carport.  

4. Upper Douglass Valley

  • Beds: 3 – 4
  • Baths: 2.5 – 3
  • Eligibility: O4 – O5; W3 – W5

These single-story homes also come with an unfinished basement for extra space. The kitchen has a cute breakfast bar and a dining space. The living room has a fireplace, and there is another room that can be used as an office or family room. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, and there is a bathroom for guests conveniently located near the living room.
