The location is remote and spacious, making it perfect for the military to conduct testing of many types of aircraft. So they do, and it's operated by the fine men and women of the U.S. Air Force (USAF). At least that’s what they want you to believe. How To Work at Area 51

For most jobs, if you work hard, build a resume, make connections, and apply, you too may soon find yourself with a great job opportunity. To get into Area 51, however, you’re going to need all of that and a whole lot more. It’s not as if you can just waltz into Area 51. And we don’t foresee many, if any, job postings coming up for the secretive facility. To be employed in one of the most guarded areas in the world, you're going to need to showcase skills, the ability to keep a secret, and frankly just get lucky to some degree. Here are some tips to get you employed at Groom Lake:
  • Not everything is known about the criteria for working at Area 51, but one of the first things you’ll need to know is that working in the facilities is off-limits unless you are a U.S. citizen. Non-citizens are not eligible for employment here.
  • Join the military. Because while aliens may not be stored there, the facilities are operated by the military in numerous ways. Specifically, because Area 51 is actually the nickname of an Air Force base called Homey Airport (XTA/KXTA) or Groom Lake, and the USAF conducts many tests throughout the area and secures the installation.
  • Be ready for the background check of all background checks. Any blemish or reason for dismissal can wreck your chances, so it’s best to stay on the up and up.
  • Pursue a career that can get you involved in the operations at Groom Lake. This means finding a job in the world of aerospace, engineering, or technology. Being a skilled pilot can also help, as there is a need for test pilots, but no matter what path you choose, be sure to work hard to advance to the top of your field.
  • Living in or near Las Vegas, Nevada, also doesn’t hurt. There are some ex-employees that expressed that they lived in the area, which may have played a role in helping them secure employment.
On paper, there's a simple career path to get you employed at Area 51, but the truth is, nobody knows exactly what it takes. Background checks can disqualify you from eligibility for many reasons because the security clearance is so high. They are also beyond intrusive. Just because you may have the necessary skills to work at such a military installation, if you are flagged, you can kiss the dream goodbye. Have a clean record, work hard, and may the force be with you in your endeavors.

What Is Janet Airlines?

Janet Airlines is a secretive airline that brings employees of Area 51 in and out of the facilities. There are many secrets surrounding Area 51, but it’s no secret that getting anywhere near the facility is a problem and a half. Even approaching the property on the outskirts is enough to trigger the many different types of alarms throughout the perimeter and send military personnel rushing your way. Oh, and smile because you are definitely on camera. The use of Janet Airlines allows personnel with the right security clearance to travel in and out of the facilities located at Groom Lake. There are two possible theories concerning the callsign of Janet Airlines. Its possible meaning is either “Just Another Non-Existent Terminal" or "Joint Air Network for Employee Transportation,” though these are speculative. Using its own special portion of the Harry Reid International Airport, Janet Airlines is operated in part by the USAF and lands in various secret locations, including Area 51. Even without as much extraterrestrial connection as its famous landing destination, don’t think that Janet Airlines isn’t without its own conspiracy theories. Following the horrific events of the 2017 Las Vegas shooting, it was discovered that the Vegas maniac may have targeted classified government-run airline fuel tanks. The fuel tanks are suspected of having a connection to Janet Airlines and a potential secret mission that was proposed around that time. Where there are airplanes, there will be people around to operate them. Janet Airlines even sent out a job posting back in 2018 to advertise an opportunity for those seeking employment. If you have ample experience and a clean record, keep an eye out for an opportunity to work for one of the world’s most secretive airlines. The best job perk? Free non-stop flights directly to Area 51.

Aliens at Area 51

Area 51 is known around the world for its place in pop culture due to the many, many conspiracy theories that have sprung up around multiple sightings of strange lights in the sky and the general secrecy surrounding the base. Countless theories from communicating with aliens to collaborating with them for some sinister motive to storing and learning from their technology have been casually thrown around online. Things took an interesting turn when a social media trend known as “Storm Area 51, They Can’t Stop All of Us” went from a fun meme to a full-out festival and mass gathering. Even though it was suspected to be a joke, the USAF still felt the need to warn the public that trespassing was prohibited and could even lead to detainment or death. What is known for sure is that the American public and beyond continue to search for the truth. Like toddlers who have been told “no” but haven’t been given a reason why, we persist. Are we really the only sentient life out there in a universe that stares back at us in infinite ways? That’s for you to decide. But before you do, remember, the same government that once told us we had nothing to worry about released UFO videos after declassifying the footage in 2020.

Top Secret Testing for the U.S. Air Force

The Bird of Prey, SR-71 Blackbird, and U-2 Dragon Lady are just some of the examples of the very real aircraft of Area 51. Testing aircraft for the military is a logical, yet admittedly convenient, explanation for the reason locals and worldwide skeptics alike claim to have seen UFOs around the facilities. Groom Lake, Nevada, is home to the Homey Airport, and while not everything is known about the aircraft that are tested there, secret, innovative test runs are performed to help advance America’s military for today and tomorrow.

Moving to Groom Lake Is Out of This World

Moving to Groom Lake Groom Lake, Nevada, is filled with many mysteries and secrets, some of which we may never fully uncover. But having a job that takes you to this remote military installation provides service members with a unique career path that not many get to experience. The chances of working at the Nevada Test and Training Range are slim. You’ll most likely have to be hand selected either by the government, a contractor, or both to participate in the top-secret work that goes on there. Remember, you are going to want to showcase a long-standing background of being trustworthy, and you’ll also want to hone your skills in the fields of aerospace, security, and/or engineering. Being a part of the U.S. Air Force is another big plus, as they operate the facilities at Groom Lake, and rising through the ranks may help you make a name for yourself that could be a major boon to your chances. The truth is indeed out there, and with a little luck, you too can help find it.
