The Child Development Center offers Monday through Friday care from 6:45am-6:00pm with programs certified by the Department of Defense. The CDC is available for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years. Care is offered in full day, hourly, or drop in options; fees are determined by family income. Be sure to contact the CDC for availability as there could be a waitlist.

Before and after school care is also available for children in kindergarten through sixth grade, as well as during non-school days and summer vacation. This provides many opportunities to engage in a diverse set of activities such as sports and arts.

The SLO serves military families in a number of different areas regarding their children’s school, such as supporting families with school transfers, providing information on school boundaries, and assisting families with the special education process. The largest school district in Tarrant County is the Fort Worth Independent School District but overall, NAS JRB Fort Worth is served by 20 independent school districts (ISD). Mary Louise is only a five mile drive from base and, like most elementary schools in the area, they teach students grades K-5th as well as those with special needs. They offer an after school program for grades 3-5 that features homework assistance as well as participation in sports, arts, and computers.
