Unfortunately, the Pensacola Amtrak stop has closed. It was previously the closest Amtrak station to NAS Whiting Field, at roughly 25 miles away. You can catch the Greyhound bus in Pensacola. Entering NAS Whiting Field and Base Amenities

If you don’t yet have an official DOD-issued ID, you will need assistance from your sponsor or be subject to a background check before you’re allowed to enter NAS Whiting Field. Call your sponsor for any questions.

Check-In Procedures for Incoming Personnel

All enlisted and civilian personnel reporting for in-processing at NAS Whiting Field are required to report to the Administration Department in Building 1401. After normal duty hours, orders must be stamped by the command duty officer at the Quarterdeck in Building 1401. All flight students and instructors should report to the Student Control Office in Building 2944. Sponsors can assist with reporting requirements.

Pensacola, FL

Pensacola is the westernmost city in the Florida Panhandle and the county seat of Escambia County. It is the principal city of the Pensacola Metropolitan Area, with an estimated 503,000 residents as of the 2019 Census, roughly 54,000 of which are in Pensacola proper. Pensacola is home to beautiful beaches, tons of history, and lots of things for its residents to do. The area is served by Naval Air Station Pensacola, as well as nearby NAS Whiting Field, Hurlburt Field, and Eglin Air Force Base. Milton, Florida, Weather

As expected, Florida weather is generally on the warmer side. There are spells of cold fronts that hit the area springing across from the Atlantic, but that usually just means a couple days of temps in the low 50s. Milton, Florida, weather is almost always warm (read: sweltering), and the city boasts that there are nearly 365 sunny days every year.
