Welcome to Naval Station Norfolk, located in Norfolk, Virginia. Norfolk is the second most populous city in Virginia and the most populous, Virginia City, is only 17 miles from base. There will always be something for you and your family to do in this military-friendly beach community. House-hunting is a formidable task. Naval Station Norfolk Barracks

Unaccompanied housing is available to personnel in pay grades E1-E3 and E4 with less than four years of service. The on-base barracks and dorms provide a safe, secure environment for all residents and are in close proximity to work. UH facilities also provide communal lounges with televisions and residents can take advantage of nearby fitness, dining, and religious amenities.

Resident advisors (RA) may also reside on-base to provide leadership and assistance for residents. Those in pay grades E6-E9 may apply for this position through the UH office.

Naval Station Norfolk Housing Options

NS Norfolk on-base housing is privatized and managed by Lincoln Military Housing. Today, Lincoln manages over 35,000 family homes across the country.

Lincoln offers ten unique neighborhoods on NS Norfolk with a variety of floor plans that will meet the needs of most families. K-12 schools are within a short drive of all neighborhoods and some communities are even a short walk away from the closest school. The communities are near plenty of beaches, parks, and shopping. Lafayette Park, home to the Virginia Zoo and other family-friendly activities, is only about a 15-minute drive away. All family communities are also near the NEX and commissary.

Amenities vary at each neighborhood but pets are welcome at all ten. Contact the Lincoln Memorial Norfolk Pointe District Office for specific breed restrictions.

Lincoln Memorial NS Norfolk Family Home Neighborhoods

1. Ben Moreell

The Ben Moreell community consists of two story townhomes with 3-5 bedrooms. Homes come equipped with outdoor storage and a one-car garage, and kitchens come with a refrigerator, dishwasher, and gas range. Playgrounds and picnic areas are among the many community amenities. A pool is available to all residents at the nearby Norwich Manor neighborhood. Sewell’s Point Elementary School is only about a half-mile walk away.

The Breezy Point four-bedroom, single-family homes feature stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, and a utility room with hookups for a full-size washer and dryer.

3. Castle Acres

Castle Acres offers 2-3 bedroom floor plans as well as a fenced backyard. Street parking is available outside each home. A community center with a pool and basketball court is only a short walk away. If there are any golfers in your family, Sewell’s Point Golf Course is next door.

5. Joint Forces Staff College

Along with Ben Moreell, Joint Forces Staff College (JFSC) is one of two communities in the Norfolk Pointe District. These 3-4 bedroom homes include updated kitchens and bathrooms. One of the many perks in this community is their community center that provides Armed Services YMCA-sponsored programs for children of all ages. If you’re a parent, your children will love all the beaches and parks within a 10-mile radius of your home; if you’re a puppy parent, your fur child will love Gleneagles Dog Park, located across the street from JFSC.

Norwich Manor offers single-level, duplex homes with eat-in kitchens and a fenced backyard. One of the features of this community is the lap pool.

The SP Enlist community offers a more countryside touch to NS Norfolk.
