Welcome to West Point, the oldest continuously occupied military post in America. With rich history, stunning Hudson River views, and plenty to explore nearby, there's always something to do just outside the gates. Start at the free West Point Museum to see rare artifacts, historic weaponry, and seasonal access to Fort Putnam. Then stop by the Visitor Center for hands-on exhibits and a look at cadet life. Kids especially love the model barracks room. In winter, hit the slopes at Victor Constant for skiing, snowboarding, and cross-country trails. Civilians are also welcome. Just minutes away, Bear Mountain State Park offers hiking, boating, a zoo, picnics, and gorgeous views from Perkins Tower, plus a summer pool and winter ice rink. Hungry? Try Tulsa for Indian cuisine, North Plank Road Tavern for historic vibes, waterfront seafood at Captain Jake's or Blue Point, or Brasserie Le Bouchon for a perfect date night. For families, there's Legoland New York, fruit picking at Lawrence Farms, historic Constitution Island tours, Splashdown Beach, and the Hudson Highlands Nature Museum. At West Point, history, nature, and adventure are always within reach. Get out and explore. The Hudson Valley is ready when you are.
