Welcome to the Camp H.M. Smith Marine Corps base. Camp H.M. Smith serves as headquarters for Marine Corps Forces, Pacific and Fleet Marine Forces, Pacific. The base is also home to the Indo-Pacific Command. The base’s 224 acres were acquired by the Marine Corps in 1955. It is now considered part of Marine Corps Base Hawaii. Camp H.M. Smith is located on the Hawaiian island of Oahu, near Halawa Heights. The island’s major airport, Daniel K. Inouye International Airport, is about 5 miles from Camp H.M. Smith.

Driving Directions From Daniel K. Inouye International Airport to Camp H.M. Smith

  1. Take Aolele Street to Route 92 west.
  2. Turn left onto Route 92 west.
  3. Turn right onto Valkenburgh Street.
  4. Turn left onto Radford Drive.
  5. Turn right onto Bougainville Drive.
  6. Turn left onto Salt Lake Boulevard.
  7. Turn right onto Kahuapaani Street.
  8. Continue straight to stay on Kahuapaani Street.
  9. Continue onto Halawa Heights Road.
  10. Turn right onto Elrod Road. This will lead you to the Camp H.M. Smith gate.

Camp H.M. Smith Commissary

Camp H.M. Smith Commissary Camp H.M. Smith does not have its own commissary. However, military personnel can use the nearby commissaries at neighboring military bases. The closest commissary is at Pearl Harbor. For a full list of commissaries, visit the Defense Commissary Agency’s website.

Best Places To Live Near Camp H.M. Smith

Aiea

Aiea is found in Honolulu County. The community has a population of approximately 10,000. Aiea is home to Pearlridge Center, the largest enclosed shopping center in the state. The shopping venue hosts special events, a weekly farmers market, and the island’s only monorail. Aiea is also home to Keaiwa Heiau State Recreation Area and its Aiea Loop Trail. The 4.8-mile Aiea Loop Trail runs along the ridge on the west side of Halawa Valley. From the trail, you can take in stunning views of the southern coastline of the island from Pearl Harbor and the Waianae Range to Honolulu and Diamond Head.

hawaii ocean The island of Oahu has nearly perfect weather year-round. Day or night, summer temperatures stay in the 70s and 80s. In the winter, things don’t cool off too much, with average highs in the high 70s and average lows in the 60s. The island of Oahu gets approximately 13 inches of rain each year. Potential weather and climate hazards in Hawaii include earthquakes, floods, hurricanes, tsunamis, and volcanic eruptions.
