Entering Maxwell-Gunter Air Force Base and Amenities

All drivers on base must have a valid military ID, veterans or retiree ID, a valid driver’s license, and a valid driver’s insurance card. All visitors must stop by the Visitors Center located by the main gate on Maxwell Blvd E.

Check-in Procedures for Incoming Personnel

All personnel reporting to Maxwell-Gunter AFB must check-in with their respective units. The unit commander’s support staff will conduct the in-processing procedure for permanent party personnel. You will need to bring all hand-carried documents given to you during the out-processing briefing from your losing base, including medical records, personnel records, finance records.

You can expect the climate in Alabama to be warm and humid. You should also be aware that Alabama has both fall and spring tornado seasons, so be sure that you keep a weather radio handy even though it’s more north near Birmingham that sees higher frequencies of Tornado watches.
