MCLB Barstow is found in southern California's Mojave high desert. The base is between Los Angeles in California and Las Vegas in Nevada on Interstate 40. MCLB Barstow is part of San Bernardino County. To the north of base is Fort Irwin, to the east is the Mojave National Preserve, and to the southwest is the city of Victorville.

1. Take Interstate 10 east toward San Bernardino.

Check-in Procedures for Incoming Personnel

Upon arrival, contact your assigned unit and your sponsor for in-processing instructions and information. Check-in begins at the S-1 Manpower Department in Building 15. S-1 can be reached at 1 (760) 577-6375, 1 (760) 577-6308, or 1 (760) 577-6176. If you arrive after duty hours, report to the base duty officer, who can be reached at 1 (760) 559-7193, then check in with S-1 on the next business day.
