1. Coyote Run Golf Course

1 (530) 788-0192 Coyote Run is an 18 hole, championship golf course. The course has a driving range and pro shop, and offers lessons. Coyote Run is a well-regarded course, but the Air Force recently announced it would be closing at an unspecified date due to revenue shortcomings. 2. Beale Lanes

1 (530) 634-2299 Beale Lanes offers different specials throughout the week, as well as a pro shop. The alley is open on most holidays and available to the general public.

Yuba City

3. Nu Generation Lanes

1 (530) 755-2600 Nu Generation Lanes offers 40 lanes, bumper bowling, cosmic bowling, a snack bar, and a sports lounge. They also hold tournaments and birthday parties.
4. Millennium Family Entertainment Center

1 (530) 763-4143 Millenium has a little bit of everything: laser tag, a climbing wall, bumper cars, virtual reality, and arcade games. There’s also a 3,000 square foot play area for kids and a snack bar. The establishment has won several awards.

5. Beale Rod n’ Gun Club

1 (530) 788-2473 The Beale Rod n’ Gun Club offers two skeet fields, one trap range, and a 110 yard small arms range which will accommodate all small-bore weapons. 6. Beale Air Force Base Outdoor Adventure Center

1 (530) 634-2054 Whether you’re looking for whitewater rafting or hiking, the Outdoor Adventure Center has you covered. They can help with summer trips, winter adventures, and rental equipment including boats, grills, and. bouncy houses. The adventure center also offers a retail store and vehicle & RV storage.

7. Beale Pools

1 (530) 634-2262 Beale AFB hosts two outdoor pools. These include the Main Base Pool and the Lake House saltwater pool. The pools typically open from May to September during the summer season. There’s also a splash pad.

8. Sutter Bike Trail

N/A A flat and scenic biking trail that covers ten miles out and back. The trail offers views of the Sutter Buttes and local water fowl.
9. Middle Mountain Foundation Interpretive Hikes - Tours

1 (530) 755-3568 If you want to hike the Sutter Buttes, the Middle Mountain Foundation is your only option, as much of the land around the Buttes is privately owned. There are a variety of hikes available - some focus on bats, birds, and art - and prices start at $35 per person.

Sacramento

10. American River Bike Trail (Jedediah Smith Memorial Trail)

N/A The American River Bike Trail (Jedediah Smith Memorial Trail) is 32 miles long. It stretches across Old Sacramento and ends in Folsom, CA. There are areas for inline skating; bike, horse, and walking trails; and is wheelchair accessible.

Marysville

11. West Coast Falconry

1 (530) 749-0839 West Coast Falconry offers classes and experiences are for falconers and non-falconers of an age level where you can actually work hands-on with their birds of prey. They also run an apprentice seminar that helps prepare you to become a licensed falconer.

13. Omni Fitness Center

1 (530) 634-2258 The Omni Fitness Center is the base’s secondary facility, but it offers a significant amount of weight and cardio equipment. 14. Independence Cinema

1 (530) 634-3140 Independence Cinema is a movie theater open to the Beale community. The movies shown are a mix of new movies and classic favorites. Movies are free, but concessions are available for purchase. The theater also offers sensory showings, which keep the lights on and allow people to walk around.

Yuba City

15. Sutter County Museum

1 (530) 822-7141 The Sutter Country Museum chronicles local history, and contains more than 15,000 artifacts and 7,000 photographs. Exhibits change each year. There’s also a small gift shop.

Marysville

16. Museum of Forgotten Warriors
5865 A Rd. Marysville, CA 95901-8017

1 (530) 742-3090 The Museum of Forgotten Warriors covers every military conflict from the Civil War to the present day. Every item present is personally donated and displayed. Exhibits range from military vehicles and equipment to newspaper articles and medals.
17. Mary Aaron Memorial Museum
704 D St. Marysville, CA 95901-5319

1 (530) 742-3090 Built in 1855, the Mary Aaron Memorial Museum is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The gothic architecture is impressive, but the museum also documents the history of the town, and contains several artifacts from the California gold rush era.
18. Bok Kai Temple
1st and D Street Marysville, CA 95901

1 (650) 678-8246 The Bok Kai Temple is more than 150 years old and features a restored mural, artifacts, and several altars dedicated to Chinese deities. The town has been restoring the temple since 1947, and recently opened a museum to display and preserve several of the artifacts. The temple is only open on weekends.

Because it is so close to both Yuba City and Marysville, there’s plenty of things to do around Beale Air Force Base to keep you and your family busy.
