About Joint Base Langley-Eustis

Welcome to Joint Base Langley-Eustis in Virginia. In accordance with the 2005 Base Realignment and Closure Commission report, Langley Air Force Base and Fort Eustis merged their administrative functions, becoming Joint Base Langley-Eustis in 2010. Unlike other joint bases that share common boundaries, Langley Air Force Base in Hampton and Fort Eustis in Newport News are separated by about 20 miles. The Hampton Roads metropolitan region — including Virginia Beach, Norfolk and Newport News, Virginia — is home to JBLE. The bases together have more than 20,000 military personnel and civilian workers, according to the 2020 Joint Base Langley-Eustis Economic Impact Analysis.
