Welcome to Joint Base Langley-Eustis! Your New Duty Station Guide

Table of Contents
Welcome to Joint Base Langley-Eustis in coastal Virginia. Joint Base Langley-Eustis was established in 2010 with the joint basing of Air Force Base Langley and Fort Eustis. Unlike other joint bases that share common boundaries, Langley Air Force Base in Hampton and Fort Eustis in Newport News are separated by about 20 miles. While the administrative function of these two installations was combined in 2010, both continue to maintain separate facilities, commissaries, exchanges, recreation facilities, and child and family support services due to their geographical separation.
Langley AFB (JBLE-Langley) hosts the 633rd Air Base Wing, the 1st Fighter Wing, and the 192nd Fighter Wing. Fort Eustis (JBLE-Eustis) is home to the 733rd Mission Support Group, 7th Transportation Brigade, the 128th Aviation Brigade, and the 597th Transportation Brigade. Together, the bases support more than 20,000 military personnel and civilian workers.
Joint Base Langley-Eustis is one of multiple military installations in Hampton Roads, including: Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story, Naval Air Station Oceana, Naval Station Norfolk, Naval Support Activity Hampton Roads, Norfolk Naval Shipyard, and more.
Continue reading for our in-depth guide to Joint Base Langley-Eustis so you can get to know your new base and its surrounding community.
