Introduction

Welcome to Mountain Home Air Force Base! Located in Elmore County in Southwestern Idaho Kings, Mountain Home is the home of the 366th Fighter of the Air Combat Command (ACC). Now that you have your orders and are on your way, you’re probably thinking about finding a place to live. Finding the right home can be hard, especially if you’re moving to a new area. With that in mind, we’ve put together a guide to help you get started and give you an idea of what to expect when it comes to your choices for on-base housing on Mountain Home AFB.

Mountain Home AFB BAH

Mountain Home AFB Barracks

UH is provided for unaccompanied Airmen in the ranks of E-1 to E-3 and E-4 with less than 3 years of service. Each Airman is provided a private sleeping room, furnishings, bed linens and supplies required for comfortable living. The permanent party UH campus at Mountain Home consists of 599 bed spaces in five dormitories. Two dorms are "1+1 Corridor" style (2 rooms share a common kitchen and bathroom) and four dorms are "2+2 Corridor" style (2 rooms share a common bathroom). Amenities include game rooms, TV rooms, and Wi-Fi. Idaho also offers year-round access to outdoor recreation activities.

Mountain Home AFB Housing Office

The Military Housing Office should be your first point of contact when you get to Mountain Home AFB, whether you’re going to live on or off the installation. The MHO provides complete referral services and relocation assistance, among several other services, such as helping members understand their lease agreements and the necessity for a military release clause and assisting in resident and landlord dispute resolution.

Family Housing at Mountain Home AFB

On-base housing at Mountain Home Air Force Base is privatized through Balfour Beatty Communities (BBC). Click here to browse their communities at Mountain Home AFB, each of which offers its own floor plans and amenities. Homes offer between 2-4 bedrooms and 1.5-2.5 bathrooms and come in a wide variety of styles.

Even though some neighborhoods may be available to all ranks, only certain homes within that neighborhood may be available to certain ranks.

1. Coyote Terrace

Ranks:

E1-E9 Coyote Terrace offers two-, three-, and four-bedroom homes that are conveniently located near Silver Sage Golf Course. Each one of these homes features a garage, laundry room with a utility sink, and a master suite. This walkable neighborhood also includes several playgrounds and covered pavilions.

2. Desert Skies

Ranks:

E1-E9 Desert Skies features two-, three-, and four-bedroom homes that are located near the base hospital and feature basketball and tennis courts and several playgrounds. Amenities include a fully-equipped kitchen with a breakfast bar, patios, and ample closets and storage space.

3. Guinfighter Circle

Ranks:

O4-O6 Gunfighter Circle offers four-bedroom homes that are located near several walking paths and playgrounds. Amenities include a two-car garage, master suite, and laundry room.

4. Guinfighter Manor

Ranks:

E1-E9, O1-O6 Gunfighter Manor is home to three- and four-bedroom homes that are located near several playgrounds. Amenities include a master suite, central heating and air conditioning, and ample closets and storage space.

5. Sagebrush View

Ranks

: E1-E9, O1-O3 Sagebrush View features two-, three-, and four-bedroom homes that are located near The Mountain Home AFB Elementary School, Shoppette and base hospital are all close by. Residents here also enjoy their own playgrounds, basketball court and covered pavilions. Amenities include a laundry room, porch, and fenced-in backyard.

6. Trinity Heights

: E1-E6 Trinity Heights offers two-, three-, and four-bedroom homes that are located near walking trails and playgrounds. Amenities include ample closets and storage space, a fully-equipped kitchen with a breakfast bar, and a patio to enjoy the outdoors.

7. Woodland Groves

Ranks:

E1-E6 Woodland Groves offers two-, three-, and four-bedroom homes that are located near the Mountain Home Commissary, covered pavilions, and playgrounds. Amenities include a two-car garage, master suite and central heating and air conditioning.
