The accredited programs are offered for children ages six weeks to five years and provide a nurturing and safe environment for all ages. For infants, the CDC maintains a 1:4 adult-to-child ratio; for the toddlers, that ratio is 1:5. Preschoolers receive a curriculum that provides a solid foundation for kindergarten and are never in classes of more than 20 children. Meals are offered in the form of breakfast, lunch, and a light afternoon snack. Space is limited, so it is highly recommended that you submit a waiting list application as soon as possible. Students living near U.S. Coast Guard Academy will most likely attend a school in the New London Public Schools (NLPS) district. NPLS is the first and only all-magnet school district in Connecticut, offering three magnet pathways: STEM, International Baccalaureate (IB), and Visual & Performing Arts. Your choice of school will depend on which of these programs your children pursue. Across six campuses, NPLS serves 3,300 students.
