The North Alabama Railroad Museum truly reflects the passion and love one can have for trains and railroads. The museum’s goal is to keep railroad history alive and within popular knowledge. The railroad museum offers many different ways you can experience the museum and embrace all of the history and information it has to offer. You can explore the facilities through different types of tours, like a free, self-guided tour or on Huntsville train rides. The Chase Depot is the centerpiece of the museum, which is the smallest union depot in the United States. The depot served several railroads while it was in service, and if you’re at the museum on a day it’s running, you’ll have the opportunity to ride a vintage train over the museum’s Mercury and Chase Railroad. The museum’s staff is around every Wednesday and Saturday morning to offer help to visitors and for member work sessions. Otherwise, visitors are welcome to come and tour the museum on their own. There are tour sheets and brochures available at the Chase Depot, but be aware that the museum sometimes closes off to the public when there is a private event being hosted, as the museum in Huntsville, AL, accommodates private special events, such as birthday parties, field trips, and more.North Alabama Railroad Museum Events
