The College of Health Care Professions was founded by a group of medical doctors from the world-renowned Texas Medical Center who recognized the high need for skilled healthcare professionals, and for more than 35 years CHCP has been a Texas leader in allied healthcare education and career training. We have used our knowledge of the healthcare industry to create a strong student support network. Our deputies also make some of the most competitive pay in the region in relation to the cost of living, with the average deputy making $104,000 per year. There is no limit on overtime possibilities, and we stay competitive with longevity pay up to $22,800 per year, take home vehicles for every deputy in the agency and retirement plans ranging from 75% all the way up to 100% of your income.

As a service member, we work hard to make your transition as seamless as possible from the military into the private sector by pre-hiring you before the academy starts. This means that upon being accepted into one of our academies we can hire you shortly after your separation from the military. You can also use the GI Bill while you go through our 26-week academy and use that money to offset your living expenses. If you are in a Guard or Reserve unit, or plan on transiting into a Guard or Reserve unit we will work with you to make sure you get all the time you need to fulfill those duties and deployments.
