Directions to Marine Corps Base Quantico
MCB Quantico is 35 miles south of Washington, D.C., in the Commonwealth of Virginia’s Prince William County. To the south of the Quantico military base is Fredericksburg and Richmond, to the east is Chesapeake Bay, and to the west are the Appalachian Mountains.
The closest airports are Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport in Washington, D.C., and Washington Dulles International Airport in Chantilly, Virginia. Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport is about 33 miles from the base. Washington Dulles International Airport is about 40 miles from the base.
From Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport
- Take the George Washington Memorial Parkway to Interstate 395 South.
- Follow I-395 South and Interstate 95 South to State Route 619 East in Dumfries. Take Exit 150A from I-95 South.
- Continue on State Route 619 East. Drive to Fuller Road, which leads to the main gate of MCB Quantico.
From Washington Dulles International Airport
- From the airport, get on State Route 267 east.
- Follow state Route 267 east, 495 Express Lanes/Capital Beltway Outer Loop/Interstate 495 High Occupancy Toll and Interstate 95 south to state Route 619 east in Dumfries. Take Exit 150A from I-95 south.
- Continue on State Route 619 East. Drive to Fuller Road, which leads to the main gate of MCB Quantico.
From Interstate 95
- From Interstate 95, take Exit 150A for Quantico/Triangle.
- Take State Route 619 east to the entrance of the base.

If you do not have a valid military ID, you may have to stop at the Visitor Control Center to gain base access.Check-in Procedures for Incoming Personnel
If you arrive at Marine Corps Base Quantico during normal working hours, report to the Installation Personnel Administration Center on the second deck of Building 2006 on Hawkins Avenue.
You can reach IPAC at 1 (703) 784-4479. IPAC will provide assistance with initial administrative check-in matters, including personnel record updates, original order endorsements, travel claims, unit diary matters, and information on the welcome aboard briefing.
Once Marines have completed their IPAC check-in process, they will be turned over to their assigned battalion or squadron headquarters to be issued their check-in sheets and more in-processing activities.

Cities Near MCB Quantico
While many military family members call base housing their home, others choose to live in nearby communities. The neighboring communities of Dumfries, Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania, Stafford, Triangle, and Woodbridge provide housing, employment, and other services for MCB Quantico military families. Dumfries
The Town of Dumfries is just minutes north of MCB Quantico and only 10 miles from Fort Belvoir. It is home to approximately 5,900 people. With easy access to both Route 1 and Interstate 95, Dumfries is a short drive away from area attractions in the nearby Triangle, including the National Museum of the Marine Corps and Prince William Forest Park. Stafford
Stafford County is found south of MCB Quantico and borders the Rappahannock and Potomac rivers. It is home to nearly 153,000 people and the boyhood home of George Washington. The county has numerous historical attractions, parks, golf courses, breweries, wineries, and shopping opportunities.
The 17-acre Government Island historic nature preserve and the archaeological site provide scenic hiking and biking trails. The county's visitor center can be found in the museum shop of the 18th-century Belmont estate: the home and studio of Gari Melchers, the prominent portraitist, muralist, and American Impressionist painter.

MCB Quantico Schools
There are many options for your child's education near MCB Quantico. Virginia offers traditional public schools, as well as public charter schools and private schools. For younger children, there are a variety of local daycares and child care programs on and off base.
Children who live on base may attend the DoDEA schools : Crossroads Elementary School or Quantico Middle/High School. The MCB Quantico school liaison program website has more information on area school districts, homeschooling in Virginia, special education resources, and more.

MCB Quantico enjoys all four seasons. In the winter, the average highs are in the 40s and average lows are in the 20s and 30s.
