Introduction

Welcome to Naval Air Station Pensacola, known as the "Cradle of Naval Aviation." NAS Pensacola serves as the launching point for the flight training of every naval aviator, naval flight officer, and enlisted aircrewman. NAS Pensacola employs more than 16,000 military and 7,400 civilian personnel. The base encompasses more than 8,400 acres of land: about 5,800 acres at NAS Pensacola proper and another 2,500 acres at other locations, including Corry Station, Saufley Field, and Outlying Landing Field Bronson. NAS Pensacola provides base operating support and quality of life services for all shore activities aboard NAS Pensacola, Corry Station, Saufley Field, and Bronson Field. The base is home to the Naval Aviation Schools Command, the Naval Air Technical Training Center, Marine Aviation Training Support Groups 21 and 23, the Blue Angels, and the headquarters for Naval Education Training Command. NAS Pensacola also provides support to 94 Department of Defense and 31 non-DOD tenant commands, most of which train Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard personnel in naval aviation.
