Where Is Nellis Air Force Base?

Nellis AFB is located 8 miles northeast of Las Vegas in Clark County, the 13th largest county in the United States. Turn left onto N Nebraska Ave

Greyhound Bus Station

The Greyhound bus schedule is run through Amtrak and operates out of the Saltlake City Intermodal Hub out of Salt Lake City. You can find bus schedules on the Amtrak site.

Head southwest on Main St.
Continue onto Commerce St.

Amtrak

Unfortunately, Amtrak no longer offers services to Las Vegas.

Las Vegas Monorail

If you are exploring downtown Las Vegas, there’s a great alternative to walking up and down the Strip or hiring a taxi. The Las Vegas Monorail has seven different stops with trains less than 10 minutes apart that can get you where you want to go quickly.

Las Vegas is serviced by one airport for use by both the public and military personnel. If you don’t have a personal vehicle, you can catch a taxi or take a shuttle to Nellis AFB.

All drivers on base must have a valid military ID, veterans or retiree ID, a valid driver’s license, and valid driver’s insurance card. For visitors passes, head to the Visitor’s Center and sign in.

Check-in Procedures for Incoming Personnel

If you arrive during the regular duty hours, the first thing you need to do is report to your unit. If you happen to come in after duty hours, go directly to the 24-hour arrival point located in the Lodging Office and sign in. In-processing is conducted by the Military Personnel Section and Finance Monday or Thursday at 8:00 AM in building 20, room 319.

Nellis AFB hosts no on-base schooling, so all students will need to attend Clark County School District. The district is the 5th largest in the country and serves the communities in Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, Henderson, Boulder City, and Mesquite.
