USCG Sector San Francisco can be accessed from various directions. The base is directly on the bar channel of San Francisco Bay.

Coming from the Emeryville/Clawson Area

  • Get on I-80 W from W Grand Ave.
  • Follow I-80 W to Macalla Rd. in San Francisco.
  • Take Exit 4 from I-80 W.
  • Take Northgate Rd. to your destination.

Coming from the Mission Bay Area

  • Get on I-80 E from 3rd St.
  • Follow I-80 E to Macalla Rd. Take exit 4B from I-80 E.
  • Take Northgate Rd. to your destination.

Coming from Fort Mason

  • Head west on Van Ness Ave toward Van Ness Ave.
  • Continue on Bay St.
  • Take Battery St and I-80 E to Macalla Rd.
  • Take Northgate Rd. to your destination.

The Neptune Plaza Shopping Center can be found near USCG Sector San Francisco. It is located at 660 Central Ave. Alameda, CA. Aside from shopping centers, various restaurants, and parks, San Francisco is home to many of the world's most beautiful beaches.

The top San Francisco beaches include the popular Baker Beach. Here you will find the best ocean view of the Golden Gate Bridge, as well as the Marin Headlands. Many people use this beach to tan and picnic since the waves make it unsafe for swimming.

Another popular beach is China Beach, where the waters are shallow enough for children to play in. A “hidden gem” is Lands End beach. It is secluded and hidden behind Lincoln Parks cliffs. Another on the list of amazing schools in the Bay Area is Head-Royce, located in Oakland, CA. This school is number 9 on the list of California schools. This private school teaches K-12.

Weather in San Francisco

Luckily, like the weather in California, San Francisco is beautiful the majority of the year. The summer season is long and typically clear. In the winter, it is typically cold, partly cloudy, and fairly wet. The winter temperatures rarely go below 39 degrees. The summer temperatures rarely go above 83. According to tourists, the best time to visit San Francisco is from June to October. The summer months are perfect for beach go-ers.
