NSA Annapolis History
Naval Support Activity Annapolis supports the United States Naval Academy, which has trained naval and Marine Corps officers since 1845. The Academy sits on the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland's capital city and produces approximately 1,000 officers per year. NSA Annapolis provides the garrison and logistics support that enables the Academy's educational and training mission.

The Welcome/Visitor Center at 52 King George Street (Mon–Sun 0900–1700) can be reached at (410) 263-6933. For after-hours lodging, the Navy Lodge Annapolis (347 Kinkaid Road) can be reached at (410) 757-7900; PCS personnel have priority and may reserve up to 60 days in advance. Navy Gateway Inns and Suites is an alternative at (410) 293-3906. PSD can be reached at (301) 677-7813 for personnel processing questions.

Gate 1 (Main Gate / Visitor Control Center) is the primary visitor access gate, open Mon–Fri 6:00 AM - 10:00 PM. See the Gates section for the full schedule of all 5 gates and their access requirements.

Visitors must be sponsored by someone with base access and should contact the installation's Visitor Control Center in advance with their government-issued ID and vehicle info. Day passes are issued at the gate; extended access may require additional coordination.

What is BAH and how is it calculated?
BAH (Basic Allowance for Housing) is a monthly stipend based on your pay grade, dependency status, and the duty station ZIP code — it is not counted as taxable income. Rates are updated each January; use the BAH Calculator in the Finance section to see current figures for NSA Annapolis.
