Introduction
Welcome to Marine Corps Air Station New River in North Carolina. MCAS New River provides aviation support, force protection, infrastructure, and community services to promote the readiness, sustainment, and quality of life for the II Marine Expeditionary Force, and other military forces, tenant commands, personnel, and their families. The base supports and enhances the combat readiness of the Marine Corps Aviation Combat Element and Department of Defense units. The base is home to Marine Aircraft Group 29, Marine Aircraft Group 26, and other tenant units. MCAS New River's population includes approximately 6,300 active-duty members, 220 civilian personnel, 6,840 family members, and 2,490 retirees. Directions to MCAS New River
MCAS New River is found in eastern North Carolina. The base is in the city of Jacksonville in Onslow County. The base is less than 20 miles north of beautiful Atlantic beaches. To the east of base is the New River and Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, to the north is Richlands, and to the south is Sneads Ferry, North Topsail Beach, Surf City, and other coastal communities.Albert J. Upon arrival, Marine personnel should report to the Installation Personnel Administration Center in Building AS-201 in the uniform of the day. Call 1 (910) 449-7268 for more information. Personnel who arrive after regular business hours should report to their command duty officer. Marine personnel will need their service record book, health and dental records, a copy of previous sets of orders, and moving receipts to check in. After Marine personnel have checked in with IPAC, they will report to their permanent command for an official reporting endorsement and more in-processing instructions. Service members from other branches will report to their respective supporting unit detachment for an endorsement and will then report to the IPAC for further in-processing. CNATT personnel will check in to S-1 during normal working hours. CNATT personnel arriving after duty hours should contact the duty officer at 1 (910) 449-6725 or 1 (910) 376-1034.
