Welcome to Phoenix, Arizona, home of Luke Air Force Base. Named for World War I flying ace and native of Phoenix Lieutenant Frank Luke, the first aviator to win the Congressional Medal of Honor. Built in 1941, it served as one of the largest US military bases during WWII.
