The base fire department is an $11 million, state-of-the-art emergency response facility with new emergency vehicles and a comfortable living environment for responders. Firefighters receive specialized aircraft and hazard training to support the base mission.

The Kiecker Dental Clinic serves military personnel in the Seymour Johnson area. Family members can receive dental treatment at local dental offices through the TRICARE Dental Program.

The Koritz Clinic, 4th Medical Group, serves military personnel, family members and retirees in the Seymour Johnson area. Primary care services offered are family medicine, aerospace medicine, and pediatrics. Specialty care services include optometry, mental health, physical therapy and audiology. General radiology, laboratory, and pharmacy services are also offered. Active Duty Sick Call hours are 7:30 to 8 a.m. Sick call is for urgent care only, and the uniform of the day or PT gear is required.

The pharmacy provides comprehensive pharmaceutical services to all eligible beneficiaries. A pharmacist is available to provide medication counseling upon request. Due to local policy, the pharmacy cannot accept phoned-in prescriptions from your doctor’s office. However, your doctor’s office may send an electronic prescription through E-Scripts to DOD-Seymour Johnson (except for all controlled medications) or fax a prescription to 919-722-1895 (except for Schedule II controlled drugs), and it will be processed upon your arrival.

TRICARE is a regionally managed healthcare program for active-duty personnel,
retirees, family members and survivors. TRICARE brings together the healthcare resources of all branches of the military and supplements them with a network of civilian healthcare professionals. Upon arriving at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, call the Managed Care Support Contractor at 877-TRICARE to begin enrolling in the TRICARE North Region. This will ensure access to the 4th Medical Group and the
TRICARE system.

The veterinary treatment facility provides medical care for military working dogs and preventative healthcare for personal animals of military members, retirees and their families. Members living on base must register their pets at the facility within 10 days of arrival.
